About Me
Tim McCurdy Myers MSc, RP, RMFT
Growing up with two psychotherapists as parents, I was immersed in the world of mental health and wellbeing from an early age. This foundation ignited a lifelong passion for understanding what makes a good life and helping others create their unique version of flourishing.
With a Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Psychology and a Master of Science in Couples and Family Therapy, my formal education laid the groundwork for my career. However, I believe learning is a continuous journey, not just a chapter in life.
Over the years, I’ve completed thousands of hours of therapy with individuals and couples, each session deepening my understanding of human growth and change.
As the chair of the Professional Development Committee for the Canadian Association of Couples and Family Therapists, I stay at the forefront of developments in the field, ensuring my methods are both effective and up-to-date.
What to Expect
In therapy, I blend techniques from various models to tailor the process to each client’s unique needs.
My approach often includes methods from Emotionally Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Gottman Therapy, Dialogic Therapy, and Trauma-Informed approaches. I believe therapy is a collaborative journey, and I value client feedback to ensure we build on what’s working and adjust what’s not.
